Legislative/State Budget Items

	38th Sacramento Safari ATTENTION PTA PRESIDENTS, LEGISLATIVE CHAIRS, AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES OF THE PTA!! The following request was sent out requesting you to “Take Another Look at Sacramento Safari (March 17-19)” The deadline for applications to Sacramento Safari has passed, but District has informed us that there is some room for additional attendance. SO, I am writing to ask you to reconsider (or consider for the first time), filling those open slots with members of Torrance PTAs. Those of us who have been there will not hesitate to tell you that, “it is a WONDERFUL experience”! The conversations you will have with people (students, parents, legislators), will further your understanding of how education funding, politics, and the process works, and how that will affect us as Californians. You will meet the most incredible people, who live in the same district (33rd) as you, and share the same dreams and concerns as you do. Those connections will empower you, it may inspire you, but it will definitely change you! Please pass this request to those within your PTA family that you want to encourage and invest in. In the past, we encouraged teachers, Principals, and PTA members to go, (I went several times with teachers). You know who would/should go with a bit of encouragement. I can give you Janet Tajii, Sue Lopez, Sue Gibson, Bobbi Lim, Kelly Gottlieb, many others (and me) who have gone --If you have ANY questions or need further encouragement let us know.
