Sacramento Safari is an educational and advocacy-training trip to Sacramento. Through scheduled visits to the Legislature and representatives, Sacramento Safari is an excellent opportunity to be informed about what is going on in the State of California concerning education, to learn how to advocate effectively for the students of California, and to meet with State representatives to discuss issues important to you.
Due to COVID_19 Guidelines, the Sacramento safari for the 2020-2021 school year has been cancelled. We look forward to participating again next year.

Who Should Attend?
Sacramento Safari is open to all PTA members in the Thirty-Third District PTA area. We welcome all PTA members to join us in this unique opportunity to learn about PTA advocacy. While adult delegates are welcome to attend, the program is primarily geared towards high school student delegates.
Thirty-Third District requires a 4:1 student-to-chaperone ratio. Torrance Council of PTAs will designate two chaperones to accompany our Torrance student delegates.
Prior to Announcing Your Student Delegate(s)
Before announcing your student delegate(s), please check with your principal that they are confident the student(s) is/are of good character and will be excellent representative(s) of your school, Torrance Unified School District, and the City of Torrance.
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost of Sacramento Safari is $700 per person, and that includes air travel, bus travel in Sacramento, meals, and lodging. There will be NO REFUNDS, but we may accept substitutions.
NOTE: Torrance Council of PTAs will pay for one student delegate from each of the four high schools – North, South, Torrance, & West – as well as two designated chaperones. Units requesting that a second student delegate attend must receive permission from Thirty-Third District PTA and submit payment of $700 (payable to "Torrance Council of PTAs") for the second delegate.
Student Delegate Application: Each application must be accompanied by a copy of the student's PTA membership card
Adult Delegate Application: Each application must be accompanied by a copy of the adult's PTA membership card

However, Torrance Council of PTAs requests that our units submit applications and checks payable to "Torrance Council of PTAs" by December 4, 2019, to TCPTA, so that we have time to process and forward the documents to Thirty-Third District PTA.
