Sacramento Safari

Sacramento Safari is an educational and advocacy-training trip to Sacramento. Through scheduled visits to the Legislature and representatives, Sacramento Safari is an excellent opportunity to be informed about what is going on in the State of California concerning education, to learn how to advocate effectively for the students of California, and to meet with State representatives to discuss issues important to you.

Due to COVID-19, recent Sacramento Safari trips have been postponed.

More information for future opportunities will be posted as available.

MORE INFORMATION:

Current information on Sacramento Safari can be found on the 33rd District website.

Who Can Attend?

Sacramento Safari has been open to all PTA members in the Thirty-Third District PTA area. We welcome all PTA members to join us in this unique opportunity to learn about PTA advocacy. While adult delegates are welcome to attend, the program is primarily geared towards high school student delegates.

Thirty-Third District requires a 4:1 student-to-chaperone ratio. Torrance Council of PTAs will designate two chaperones to accompany our Torrance student delegates.

Before announcing any student delegate(s), please check with your principal that they are confident the student(s) is/are of good character and will be excellent representative(s) of your school, Torrance Unified School District, and the City of Torrance.
